Introduction
The Major Dhyan Chand State Sports University, Meerut, is committed to ensuring a safe, respectful, and gender-sensitive environment for all students, research scholars, athletes, faculty members, and staff. In accordance with the guidelines of the Government of India and the University Grants Commission (UGC), the university has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) for the prevention, prohibition, and redressal of sexual harassment and related concerns within the university campus.
The ICC functions as the primary body responsible for addressing grievances related to discrimination, harassment, misconduct, and safety concerns, ensuring justice, fairness, confidentiality, and transparency.
Objectives of ICC
- To uphold equality, safety, dignity, and respect for all members of the university community.
- To investigate complaints related to sexual harassment, gender discrimination, inappropriate conduct, or any form of harassment.
- To provide a neutral, impartial, and time-bound redressal mechanism.
- To ensure strict compliance with rules, regulations, and legal guidelines concerning workplace and campus safety.
- To organize awareness programs, sensitization workshops, and training sessions related to gender sensitivity and student safety.
- To recommend corrective and preventive measures for establishing a safe and inclusive university environment.
Functioning of the ICC
- The Committee receives complaints, forms inquiry panels, conducts hearings, gathers evidence, and prepares findings.
- All proceedings are conducted with confidentiality, neutrality, and fairness.
